Loss, Grief and Bereavement Therapy

 LOSS ,GRIEF AND BEREAVEMENT

Grief is the felt experience of losing a loved one. Everyone grieves differently. The grieving process is affected by one’s circumstances, support system, beliefs, culture and past experience of loss. Grief can be intense and thus can have a big impact on our mind and body. After a significant loss, some people might experience intense sadness, pain, disbelief, anxiety, tiredness, changes to their sleep & eating routine. When you are experiencing grief, you might have headaches, body aches and sometimes you might feel isolated, angry and have feelings of abandonment. It is hard to tell how long grief will last as everyone’s experience is different.

Dealing with the loss of a loved one can be stressful. If you are struggling to cope with your loss, reaching out for support can be helpful. Talking to a therapist can help you through the grieving process.

You may associate grief with the death of a loved one, but any loss can cause grief, including the loss of a relationship, your health, your job, or a cherished dream. After a significant loss, you may experience all kinds of difficult and surprising emotions, such as shock, anger, and guilt. Sometimes it may feel like the sadness will never let up.

While these emotions can feel very painful, accepting them as part of the grieving process and allowing yourself to feel what you feel is necessary for healing.

As you deal with your loss, remember that there is no order or timetable for grief. Everyone grieves differently, but there are healthy ways to cope and heal from the pain
